Which machine for your operation — a quick decision guide

The cheapest machine is rarely the right one. Match the machine to your loads, daily volume and power — these are the questions that decide the fit:

If you…Best fitWhy
Ship heavy / dense / export loadsErgoPack 726XDigital tension to 2500N, sealless weld, rust-free PET for sea transit

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a pallet strapping machine cost in India?
Prices range from manual tools (₹25,000–₹35,000) and table-top semi-automatic machines (₹35,000–₹85,000) to mobile and inline systems (₹1,75,000 and up). Table-top machines cannot strap loaded pallets, so for pallet dispatch a mobile or inline machine is required. ErgoPack quotes against your pallet volume, load and power so the price reflects the right machine and its ROI.
Who is the manufacturer of ErgoPack machines, and who supplies them in India?
ErgoPack machines are engineered and manufactured in Germany — the inventors of the patented mobile ChainLance pallet strapping system. In India they are supplied, installed and serviced by Benz Packaging, with engineers and genuine spare parts available nationwide.
Which ErgoPack machine should I buy — 726X, GO or 700?
The 726X is the fully integrated machine with digital tension to 2500N, a touchscreen and a friction-weld head — for high-tension, heavy and export loads. The GO is the electric mobile machine for high-volume mixed dispatch. The 700 is the manual-crank machine for sites without power. Tell us your volume, loads and power and we will recommend the right one.
Do you provide service and spare parts in India?
Yes. Through Benz Packaging, ErgoPack India provides on-site installation, operator training, service and genuine spare parts across the country — so your machine stays running.
Can I get a demo or quote before buying?
Yes. We offer an on-site capacity audit: our team brings a machine to your floor and runs a live cycle on your heaviest pallet, then provides pricing and an ROI estimate. Request a quote using the form on this page.
What is the ROI and payback period of a pallet strapping machine?
On a typical Indian floor — one line, four manual operators across two shifts, ~50 pallets per shift — a mobile machine saves around ₹25 lakh a year across labour, strap waste (~12%) and reduced damage, recovering its cost in 6–18 months. After payback it keeps saving every year, and the saving grows as wages rise while the machine cost stays fixed. Use our ROI calculator to model your own numbers.
How many pallets a day justify buying a strapping machine?
For most operations a mobile machine pays back from around 15–30 pallets a day, and the threshold is lower if you export (a single rejected container can justify it alone). Below ~10 pallets a day with light, non-critical loads, manual securing may still suffice. Count your daily pallets across both shifts and model the payback before deciding.
Why can a cheap semi-automatic table-top machine not strap a loaded pallet?
Table-top semi-automatic machines (₹35,000–₹85,000) are built for small cartons placed into the machine — they cannot strap a loaded pallet on the floor. For pallet dispatch you need a mobile machine that comes to the pallet, or a fixed inline system. Buying a table-top to "automate pallet strapping" is the most common purchasing mistake; you end up still hand-strapping pallets.
What about GST and the HSN code for a pallet strapping machine?
Pallet strapping machines are generally classified under HSN 8422 (packing/wrapping machinery), which typically attracts 18% GST. The exact rate and classification should be confirmed with your supplier and tax advisor against your invoice. We provide a proper GST invoice and documentation with every machine.
Are the machines suitable for export and seaworthy packaging standards?
Yes. The 726X applies calibrated digital tension up to 2500N with a sealless friction weld and runs PET strap, which resists rust through humid container transit and recovers tension as loads settle — the consistent, seaworthy securing that prevents the load-shifting behind most export container rejections. Combined with ISPM-15 heat-treated pallets, this meets the securing expectations of international buyers.
